Farms
Big Jalm believes in a dedication to family owned farms and properly curated fruit.
The farms we choose all operate with smart practices in mind, including limited water use and zero chemical fertilizers or pest repellents. The farms we choose share the same enthusiasm and drive to produce stellar, unique fruits. Our goal at Big Jalm is to deliver a "Vine to Palate" experience. These farms help us to accomplish that.
West Union Gardens
Since 1987, Cheryl and Jeff Boden have owned and run West Union Gardens with the help of their family. They strive to keep a great work environment for their skilled staff who hand-harvest all crops. Providing fair employment practices and caring for their staff is a reason that some employees have worked there for decades.
West Union Gardens is truly a family farm. The Bodens live and work on site, making it both a business and a home. For over 30 years, they have worked to improve the land, their community, and offer the finest quality produce.
Big Jalm has partnered with West Union Gardens, not only for the amazing fruit that they grow, but because they are a farm with values that align with our own. Stop by West Union Gardens in the summer to taste the fruit first hand and pick up some Big Jalm while you’re there. Big Jalm is the official jam maker for West Union Gardens.
South Barlow Berries
For over 20 years, Zina and Tony Martishev have owned and run South Barlow Berries in Canby, Oregon along with their eight children. They have partnered with OSU’s College of Agricultural Sciences to help test new cultivars of berries that produce the most flavorful berries available. One strawberry from their field is enough to never want a mass-market strawberry again.
South Barlow Berries uses no-spray practices to allow the fruit and the soil to grow more healthy through use. The fruit that they produce is rarely equaled and never surpassed. U-pick is available once fruit is ripe, as well as a farm stand where fresh or frozen picked fruit can be purchased.

Big Jalm has partnered with South Barlow Berries because of the dedication their whole family shows to growing high quality fruit using ethical practices and offering a loving environment.
Pacific Berry Farm
Joan continues the family legacy as heir and steward of the world's only Pacific Berry farm.
Born and raised on this ancestral acreage, Joan follows her father’s footsteps, tending to the only Pacific Berry canes in existence with the utmost care and responsibility. A century-old dry farm, the cultivars have developed a wild resilience to drought and other agricultural hardships.
After meeting Joan and tasting these unique and delicious berries, Big Jalm saw the incredible opportunity to claim this coveted crop. We are honored and privileged to say that Pacific Berry is our exclusive fruit.
